Zamora announced the reactivation of halted national public works and the incorporation of new projects throughout the province

In times of great uncertainty and amid a regrettable economic crisis affecting the Republic of Argentina...

During a press conference held this afternoon at Government House, Governor Gerardo Zamora announced the reactivation of numerous public works across the province, many of which had been halted due to the lack of national funding. This initiative will enable the resumption of construction of more than 3,500 homes in Santiago del Estero. In addition, he announced the incorporation of new projects that will cover various regions throughout the province.

The works that will be restarted include the construction and completion of housing units, roadworks such as strategic routes and roads, comprehensive improvements to hospitals and health centers, as well as the expansion of aqueducts that will benefit thousands of families.

List of Announced Works, Distributed by Department

AGUIRRE

  • Construction of concrete pavement in Malbrán and road improvements between Cuatro Esquinas and Santa Rosa, in Casares. 

ALBERDI

  • Construction of a 13.2 kV power line for the intake from the La Patria Canal and nearby residents. 
  • Provision of electric power (540 kW) to the hospital in Campo Gallo. 
  • Gravel surfacing of the road connecting Campo Gallo with Huachana. 

ATAMISQUI

  • Provision of three-phase electric power to School No. 465 in Codo Viejo. 
  • New building for the Medellín Secondary School. 
  • New building for School No. 1075 Guanaco Sombreana. 
  • New building for Educational Group No. 86150, Estación Atamisqui. 
  • New building for School No. 471 and Kindergarten No. 757, Simbol Pozo. 

BANDA

  • Construction of 2,086 homes in La Banda: 1,384 in Mama Antula III neighborhood and 702 in San Carlos neighborhood. 
  • Provision of low-voltage electricity to an export establishment in Clodomira. 
  • Provision of electricity to residents of Colonia Rasquín. 
  • Road improvements with the Municipal Commissions of La Aurora, El Aibe, Cañada Escobar, and Los Quiroga. 
  • Improvements to the Palma–Pozo Antilo roads and neighborhood roads in La Aurora, El Aibe, Cañada Escobar, and La Tapa. 
  • Gravel surfacing of the Los Quiroga – Route 34 section. 
  • Construction of road and electrical infrastructure in La Isla Industrial Park, La Banda.

  • Provision of electricity to pumping plant in Pellegrini Department.

  • Water infrastructure work in Ahí Veremos.

  • Expansion of Termas Norte–Estancia Vieja transformer station. 
  • 102 homes in Las Termas de Río Hondo.

RIVADAVIA

  • 100 homes in Selva. 

ROBLES

  • Provision of electricity to pumping plant in Robles Department.

SALAVINA

  • New building for Konrad Adenauer Secondary School, Villa Salavina. 

SILÍPICA

  • San Isidro–El Simbol Aqueduct. 
  • Lighting access to Mama Antula Parish.

In addition:

  • Ten public tenders will be issued for infrastructure works and connections in Capital, La Banda, Las Termas, Fernández, and Selva. 
  • Maintenance of public lighting on provincial routes 208, 51, 1, 5, 28, 29, 26, 3, and 8 in areas of Río Hondo, Capital, and Banda. 
  • 250 blocks of urban pavement in various localities. 
  • Maintenance of 150 km of irrigation canals in the Dulce River system. 
  • A total of 3,570 homes will be built across the province.
